In light of the work at home/virtual class initiatives, UNMC Parking Services is reminding UNMC students and employees about additional parking options, which supplement all of the current parking rules and regulations.
Parking Services also is announcing that on weekends — effective immediately — students/employees who use Daily Rate parking can park in any employee lot.
- Once in the lot, the parker should use the Park Omaha App and pay the $3 for the day.
- Parking enforcement can see which cars have paid to use the lots; these vehicles would not receive a ticket.
“Because of the unusual circumstances brought on by COVID-19, we continually assess our parking plans in order to provide flexibility and additional options for students and employees based on their circumstances,” said Robert Jennings, director of procurement and materials management.
Since Aug. 3, Parking Services has allowed:
- Students, who do not have permits or wish to cancel their existing permit, to park in student lots (15S, 17, 33S, 36, 48S, 49, 62, 63 and 65S).
- Once in the lot, students should use the Park Omaha App and pay $3 for the day.
- Parking enforcement can see which cars have paid to use the lots; these vehicles would not receive a ticket.
- Note: Students who are on campus more than five times a month should consider buying the $18 parking sticker.
- Employees, who do not have a permit or wish to cancel their existing permit, to park in selected surface lots.
- Available lots would be along the edge of campus: Lots 7,17, 27, 49, 57, 58, 62 and 63.
- Once in the lot, employees should use the Park Omaha App and pay $3 for the day.
- Parking enforcement can see which cars have paid to use the lots; these vehicles would not receive a ticket.
- Note: Parking rates vary based on the location of the parking lot, but using $36 as the standard monthly parking fee, employees who are on campus more than 12 days would find it cheaper to buy a parking permit.
