This exciting partnership with Anahuac University in Xalapa, Mexico was initiated in 2015 by UNMC's College of Public Health and has since been expanded by the Office of Global Engagement (OGE) into a cross-campus international partnership involving a number of academic units at both UNMC and UNO. The College of Public Health continues to deliver their remote teaching commitments with Anahuac University and is also exploring the development of a community-focused research incubator model. The OGE is supporting an initial medical Spanish training program at Anahuac and is in the process of expanding that collaboration for the benefit of UNMC medical students and other health care professionals. At UNO, the College of Arts and Sciences is finalizing a Leadership Development course to be offered to Anahuac students remotely in the Spring of 2021 and is developing enhanced English language training programs in collaboration with Anahuac University’s Department of Foreign Languages. Additionally, the College of Business Administration has engaged with the College of International Business and the local Xalapa business community by presenting a webinar this summer focusing on the impact of COVID-19 on the local economy and is planning to send more than 20 MBA students to Anahuac next year. The College of Information Science and Technology is in the final stage of discussion with the greatly expanded Port of Veracruz to provide technical expertise in the area of cybersecurity and supply chain management.
