This year’s Omaha Women’s Health & Wellness Conference, the 23rd presentation of the annual event that offers community education and nursing continuing education, will be entirely online this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Held Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the conference offers a variety of presentations centered on the theme of “Pouring From an Empty Cup: Prioritizing Self-Care While Caring for Others.”
Presentation topics include:
- Trauma-informed care;
- Genetic cancer risk;
- Plant-based eating;
- Finding health at every body size;
- Use and efficacy of complementary alternative medical therapies;
- Perimenopause and mental health;
- Women and health technologies; and
- Depression in pregnancy/postpartum.
Sheritta Strong, MD, director of the UNMC Office of Inclusion, will present the morning keynote on loss and the grief process as they pertain to the COVID-19 pandemic.
