IT director of academic technology finalists to speak

Virtual, public presentations have been scheduled next week to meet the two finalists for the position of IT academic technology director.

Timothy Murphy, EdD, will present on Monday, July 20, from 9-10 a.m.

Melissa Diers will present on Friday, July 24, from 9-10 a.m.

Murphy has been completing his master’s degree in strategic foresight at the University of Houston. Prior, Murphy was the director of classroom and lab technology, enterprise infrastructure at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.

Diers has been serving as the interim academic technology director since March. Prior, Diers was a senior instructional designer in academic technology at UNMC.

The academic technology director oversees the development, standardization, deployment, and management of UNMC-wide purchases of software and other information systems required for support of education and research programs. The role is responsible for the end-to-end integration of technologies to support the delivery of services across UNMC.
