Registration is open for two August educational activities sponsored by UNMC’s Center for Continuing Education. The on-site symposiums also will have Zoom video conferencing options available.
- The Fourth Annual Leukemia Symposium will be Aug. 14 at the Scott Conference Center, 6450 Pine St., Omaha. The free symposium will discuss current state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic approaches related to the recent advances in molecular testing and drug development in the field of acute leukemia and myeloproliferative disorders. There will be an emphasis on available opportunities to improve outcomes of patients with acute leukemia and myeloproliferative disorders with the optimal use of approved therapies and multidisciplinary supportive care and toxicity management. Pre-registration is required. Register by Aug. 7.
- The 2020 Midwest Radiation Oncology Symposium will be Aug. 22-23 at the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center. The symposium is designed to provide all members of the interdisciplinary oncology team with education and training on recent advances in radiation oncology, physics and biology. It also will cover the role of radiation therapy in multidisciplinary cancer care and provide up-to-date information to referring physicians seeking to transfer their patients to the oncology team. Register by Aug. 14. Registration fees increase after Aug 1.
