Emergency Management site provides preparation tips

A website for the Office of Emergency Management is now live. The site provides information about hazards and disasters that could affect the safety of students, patients, faculty, staff, visitors, or the environment of UNMC, as well as advice for planning, preparation, response, recovery and mitigation.

Elayne Saejung, director of emergency management, said, “The current COVID-19 pandemic exemplifies why we work constantly to prepare and to educate our community on emergency response. It’s critical at UNMC to maintain a state of readiness so that we respond quickly and expertly when a crisis occurs.”

Tips on the website for individuals include personal planning for disasters and hazards, and how to build emergency kits.

Information and quick links for members of Incident Command also are available on the site.
