*UPDATED March 6, 2020 with new links to information.
Dear international students,
If you are planning to travel outside the United States, there may be restrictions on your travel due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Please keep in mind:
- Countries are implementing enhanced screening of passengers. You should expect delays while clearing customs, including entering the United States.
- The U.S. Government has declared a Public Health Emergency and may cancel flights, place additional quarantine measures, or restrict your re-entry into the United States.
- UNMC and Nebraska Medicine has issued guidelines for travelers who have visited certain countries within the past 14 days. The advisory and instructions for compliance are available here.
If you have questions about traveling outside the United States, current travel restrictions and what documents you should have when re-entering the United States, please consult Dan Teet, International Student Advisor, by email or call 402-559-8326.
If you are concerned for family back home, or need someone to talk to, we encourage you to contact the Counseling & Student Development Center.
Additional resources about the COVID-19 outbreak are available on the UNMC Coronavirus website.
