A committee of University of Nebraska faculty and staff is being convened to conduct a checkup of NU’s retirement plan to ensure the plan is efficient and effective.
Chancellors will invite campus representatives to serve on the committee, with initial work to begin in late winter or early spring. With help from a third-party consultant, to be selected by the NU-wide committee, the team will review administrative elements of the university’s retirement plan such as fees, recordkeeping processes and investment options.
No changes are being made to employees’ current retirement benefits.
Following its review, the committee will make any necessary recommendations to the administration.
The University of Nebraska offers basic, supplemental and deferred compensation retirement plans, serviced by TIAA and Fidelity.
