The Olson Women’s Health Resource Center will contine its “Wellness through Doing” series on hobbies in February, with UNMC’s Tammy Dawdy, leading a four-week introductory course on the basics of knitting.
Over four class sessions, Dawdy will teach introductory techniques, stitches and yarn types to result in a 40-inch-long knitted scarf by the end of the last session.
Class dates are Feb. 3, 10, 17, and 24, and classes will run from 4-5:30 p.m. in the Olson Center classroom on the fourth floor of the Durham Outpatient Center. Attendance at the first class session is mandatory. Attendance at all four sessions is strongly recommended.
Seating is limited; please pre-register on Engage. The course will cost $15, which will include provided yarn and knitting needles for the scarf project. To participate, attendees must pay by cash or check at the first session.
“Wellness Through Doing” is a series of classes teaching hobbies as a resource for improved mental health. Future topics include hiking, yoga and gardening.
