Center for Reducing Health Disparities receives Community Impact Award

The UNMC College of Public Health’s Center for Reducing Health Disparities was one of seven individuals/organizations recently honored by the Metro Omaha Tobacco Action Coalition (MOTAC) at its annual Champions for Tobacco-Free Living Luncheon.

The Center for Reducing Health Disparities, which is directed by Dejun Su, Ph.D., associate professor, received the Community Impact of the Year Award.

MOTAC was formed in 1992 in order to strengthen tobacco prevention and control efforts in the Omaha metro area. The organization provides assistance to Douglas County in addressing tobacco-related issues through public policy, education and community action.
