Center for Healthy Living holding ‘Fitness Pass’ sale

The Center for Healthy Living is holding a sale on “fitness passes” through Jan. 3.

The passes include the use of all equipment, fitness classes, towel and locker room services.

The center is offering:

  • A five-pass package for $15;
  • A 10-pass package for $25; and
  • A 15-pass package for $35.

Olson Center for Women’s Health holding holiday open house

The Olson Center for Women’s Health is hosting a holiday open house Dec. 17 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The med center community is invited to attend the event, which will be held at the Olson Center on the fourth floor of the Durham Outpatient Center.

The event will include:

  • treats and apple cider;
  • cookie decorating;
  • healthy holiday recipes;
  • holiday craft activities; and
  • giveaways.

Retirements announced

The UNMC Department of Human Resources has released a list of six retirements between Aug. 3 and Nov. 16. The list includes two people with more than 35 years of service.

Leading the list in seniority is Janice Flegle, Munroe-Meyer Institute Occupational Therapy, with nearly 36 years of service, and Barbara Switzer, College of Medicine Dean’s Office, with 35 years of service.

Here’s the complete list of retirements in order of longevity:

  • Janice Flegle, Munroe-Meyer Institute Occupational Therapy, retired Oct. 19 (start date Nov. 3, 1986)
  • Barbara Switzer, College of Medicine Dean’s Office, retired Oct. 25 (start date Sept. 10, 1984)
  • Alice Jardee, College of Medicine, nurse practitioner, pediatrics endocrine, retired Aug. 3 (start date July 21, 1997)
  • Virginia Winchell, business and finance, HR Child Development Center, retired Nov. 16 (start date Nov. 19, 1999)
  • Victoria Whalen, Eppley Institute for Research, retired Nov. 1 (start date Jan. 1, 2001)
  • Colleen Buescher, College of Nursing-academic programs, retired Oct. 2 (start date Sept. 24, 2001)
