Assistant vice chancellor for inclusion candidate forum today

Jonathan Benjamin-Alvarado, Ph.D., will be on the UNMC campus for a forum today.

Jonathan Benjamin-Alvarado, Ph.D., one of two finalists UNMC and the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) have announced for the position of assistant vice chancellor for inclusion, will speak at UNMC today from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Sorrell Center, Room 2010.

Dr. Benjamin-Alvardo is UNO assistant vice chancellor for student success and professor of political science.

The assistant vice chancellor for inclusion will be a jointly shared administrative position that will lead key current and future inclusivity activities on the two campuses. This the first such position on both campuses.

Shelley Henderson, M.A., CEO and principal consultant for National Remedies for Equity & for the Achievement of Disenfranchised Youth (READY Nationwide) and vice president for strategy and impact at For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST), also is a finalist. Her UNMC forum was held Nov. 4.

Satellite locations for today’s 10:30-11:30 a.m. forum include:

  • College of Nursing Norfolk, Room 189
  • Health Science Education Complex at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, Room 102
  • Sorrell Center, Room 2010
  • College of Dentistry, Room 1145 (Dixon)

During the forums, Dr. Benjamin-Alvarado will take part in a question-and-answer session. Questions may be asked in person and submitted via email.
