If members of the UNMC community have upcoming meetings in an unfamiliar classroom or conference room or want a refresher on how to use the audio-visual equipment in a room they are familiar with, the video operations team is available to help.
Video operations will coordinate training sessions on using AV equipment in any room a colleague requests. To schedule a training session, call 402-559-7665.
Members of video operations will meet colleagues in the room they plan to work in to provide training assistance.
The intent of the training is to focus user needs using the specific equipment in the room(s) selected. Standardization of the user experience is the goal, but currently all rooms do not have the exact same technology.
Based on user needs, academic technologies instructional designers will partner to further assist colleagues in meeting their goals. Consultation includes instructional strategies resulting in effectively integrating technology into teaching and learning processes.
Having just had one on one training this week in our conference room, I can't say enough good things about the people assisting with this. They offered tips, tricks, solutions, humor and patience in dealing with us. Here's to being more confident in our AV skills! Thanks!!!
It would be good to have one location where you can see what is available in the room to use. Photos of the room, podium set up, actual number of chairs in the room, web camera, simple descriptions; so one would be able to be cognitive in selecting a room for one's purpose. Then be able to have the option to be trained or assisted on the technology in the room if needed.
This is great news! All the rooms are different and often, the way they worked last time you used them a year or two ago is not the way they work now. I appreciate the help I've gotten in the past from the AV folks.
