Campus barbecue set for Aug. 28

As the new school year begins, come celebrate UNMC’s diversity and get to know your fellow classmates and coworkers at the #WeAreUNMC BBQ on Aug. 28.

Volunteers needed

Faculty, staff and students are all welcome to attend the all-campus BBQ from 3-6 p.m. at the Ruth and Bill Scott Student Plaza. Enjoy free food (while supplies last), giveaways (while supplies last), music and backyard games. All are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

At 3:20 p.m., there will be remarks by Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., with a special presentation to Ruth and Bill Scott, who have been longtime donors and supporters of the medical center.

This event is hosted by the UNMC Student Senate, the UNMC Recruitment and Student Engagement Office, and the UNMC Department of Human Resources, sponsored in part by Metro Credit Union, in collaboration with the UNMC Department of Public Relations, the Environmental Health and Safety Department, the Center for Healthy Living and the UNMC Bookstore.

The rain location will be in the Truhlsen Events Center in the Sorrell Center.
