Tell us a bit about what you do here at UNMC.
I help the campus better prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies.
Excellence is one of UNMC’s iTEACH values. Tell us of a time you witnessed a person strive for the highest standards of safety and quality.
It’s no secret that I’m extremely proud of our UNMC Incident Command Team for their response and recovery efforts during the recent floods. There were many team members who worked long hours to ensure communication and resources were provided to those in need.
What is your favorite summer activity?
Summer’s my favorite season! Anything involving the sun — swimming, BBQ, hiking, etc.
List three things people may not know about you.
- I have two kids, Madi (age 12) and Kai (age 17), who keep me on my toes most days.
- A few years ago, I started a tradition of cliff jumping every summer. So far, I’ve jumped Waimea, Hawaii; Tulabi Falls, Manitoba; Quarry Park and Nature Preserve, Minn.; and Table Rock Lake, Mo. I can’t wait to add another to the list!
- My house was built in the 1880s, and I enjoy renovating it in my spare time (painting, so much painting. . .). I love the history and culture of the Little Italy/Little Bohemia area.
Glad to have you leading our emergency management work on campus, Elayne. We'll all be better prepared with you in charge.
Nice to know more about you… WOW…..cliff jumping every summer! Thank you for all you do for the Incident Command!
