The McGoogan Library will host a reception in honor of Mary Helms on Thursday, June 27, from 2-4 p.m. in the Linder Reading Room (second floor of the Sorrell Center). Remarks will be at 2:30 p.m.

Helms, associate professor and strategic initiatives librarian for the McGoogan Library, will retire from UNMC on July 3 after nearly 28 years of service.
Helms joined UNMC in 1991. For most of her career, she served as associate director for library resources and technology. During her leadership, she led a department of faculty and staff through the transition of print to electronic collections, and increased importance of special collections to the university’s mission.
For the past four years, Helms has served key roles in the library’s strategic efforts by developing popular public events, fundraising, staff development, and helping prepare for the library’s renovation.
The campus is invited to attend.
