When I returned to Nebraska in 2004 following fellowship, one of my goals was initiate a nephrology training program, which we did in 2007
What challenges do you foresee in graduate medical education in the future:
In a time when patients are increasingly complicated and the time needed to care for them is increasing, work-life balance for both trainees and faculty will continue to be a challenge
What are the strengths of your training program:
In addition to our outstanding faculty and fellows, we are one of a few programs in the country who can offer additional training in transplant, interventional nephrology and home dialysis therapies.
List some accomplishments that you are proud of: I am extremely proud of the talented and cohesive group of providers and staff in the Division of Nephrology.

- I ran hurdles in high school and my first year in college.
- I have constructed an ice rink in our backyard each of the past three winters.
