Department members make significant contribution to SCA Annual Meeting

Sara Foulke, M.D., and Megan Chacon, M.D., present their abstract at the 41st annual Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists annual meeting.

Thirteen members of the Department of Anesthesiology attended the Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologist’s 41st Annual Meeting & Workshops on May 18-21 in Chicago. During this meeting, they held roles in 10 scientific sessions and presented six abstracts on department work.
 
“These physicians did a tremendous job representing our department on a national stage,” said Division Chief Tara Brakke, M.D. “We truly are advancing the field and inspiring our peers to reach new levels, while gaining education to grow ourselves.”
 
Vice Chair of Strategy and Innovation, Sasha Shillcutt, M.D., is a member of the SCA’s board of directors, as well as the vice chair of the Scientific Program Committee. Dr. Brakke is the co-chair of the fellow and resident track.
