Hometown: Lincoln
Talk about your job and what you like best about it:
I work with stakeholders across the state of Nebraska toward the mission of the Nebraska Perinatal Quality Improvement Collaborative (NPQIC), which is to improve access to evidence-based health care for mothers and babies. These stakeholders include providers, nurses, payers, mothers, hospitals and clinics.
Together, we work to identify gaps in evidence-based practices and employ the quality improvement model to improve care. There are so many stakeholders committed to this cause and I thoroughly enjoy working with all of them.
As I have traveled to the 54 birthing hospitals, I have been reminded how beautiful our state is. When I was in 4-H, we learned the state song, "Beautiful Nebraska." Finally, I can say that I have seen and appreciate that beauty. This is just one of the perks of my job.
List three things people may not know about you:
- I enjoy working out at a CrossFit gym 4-5 times per week.
- My husband of 41 years and I have three grown children, two dogs, five darling grandchildren and five grand puppies.
- As a teenager, I worked at a Runza restaurant in Lincoln. My goal is to eat at all of the Runzas in towns with birthing hospitals.
