Jasmine Marcelin, M.D., Division of Infectious Diseases in the UNMC Department of Internal Medicine, recently received a Bronze Fellow award from Mayo Clinic.
She participated in the Mayo Clinic social media residency last fall in Jacksonville. She crafted a comprehensive social media strategy to increase the national and international recognition of the infectious diseases division at UNMC.
The division seeks to become recognized as a reliable resource of infectious diseases information and expertise by targeting conference/event planners and ground rounds coordinators as their primary audience. Their secondary audience is health content consumers, including healthcare professionals and patients.
Dr. Marcelin has been named co-director of digital innovation and social media strategy for the division and together with colleague Kelly Cawcutt, M.D., and a student social media assistant, they will use a blog and social media accounts to amplify their expertise, building their brand and cultivating a community.
