To maintain momentum and continued growth in facilities, Ken Hansen has agreed to continue to lead facilities efforts on the medical center campus.
Hansen said he is excited to continue to lead the growth of our campus going forward, although he had previously announced intentions to step down this spring as associate vice chancellor of facilities at UNMC and vice president of facilities at Nebraska Medicine.
Hansen will continue in this role to lead strategic initiatives including major expansion of the clinical enterprise, ongoing growth in research and education, development of the property growth, and efforts to drive the 2030 sustainability and energy goals.
“We are excited to work with Ken as we grow our campus and plan our future for UNMC and Nebraska Medicine,” said Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D.
“Ken’s experience with our complex facilities and the continually evolving needs of our patients is a real asset and we’re delighted to continue working with him,” said Nebraska Medicine CEO Jim Linder, M.D.
Hansen will realign the facilities organization with a focus on technology integration to strategically succeed moving forward. It was announced earlier that John Amend, assistant vice chancellor and director of Facilities Management and Planning at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO), would provide interim accountability for all academic facilities and UNMC/Nebraska Medicine utilities. With Hansen remaining in his role, Amend will continue to serve the UNO community.
