Nebraska Medicine Guild accepting grant applications

The Nebraska Medicine Guild, a non-profit charitable organization, welcomes the opportunity to continue funding projects that support the diverse needs of our patients and families.

The guild is now accepting project and educational grant applications for FY2020. For a project to be considered, it must enhance patient care or positively impact community health and have broad public appeal. Monies granted will be available for FY2020 beginning Wednesday, July 1.

The monies raised for these projects come directly from the Nebraska Medicine Guild and its fundraising efforts throughout the year, including proceeds from the Clarkson Gift Shop and CornerStone Gifts.

In FY2019, 61 projects, totaling $176,733, received funding from the guild. Some of the projects receiving funds included:

  • Obstetrics Incentive Program: Clarkson Family Medicine;
  • Teddy bears for Emergency Department and surgical pediatric patients: Emergency Department and Surgical Services;
  • A parent’s powerful song: Music therapy at Nebraska Medicine and speech-language pathology at Munroe-Meyer Institute, UNMC;
  • Bereavement supplies for perinatal hospice: Newborn Intensive Care Unit/Obstetrics; and
  • Beads of Courage: Solid Organ Transplant Unit/Child Life.
