Starting Monday, March 4, crews will begin repairs to the concrete awnings on Clarkson Tower at the Nebraska Medical Center.
Demolition and patching will be completed on the south side of the building first, then will take place on the north side of the building. Repairs will start on the top level and move toward the ground level.
Unfortunately, this project will require jackhammers and sandblasting, which means noise is likely to disturb our patients. The restoration company is providing headphones, and earplugs also will be available for patient use.
Work is scheduled for weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Weekend work may be necessary, depending on weather. Two construction rigs will be used simultaneously in order to shorten the length of the project, which is scheduled to be completed by June.
