Breakthrough Thinking Strategic Plan available for review

UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D.

On Friday, Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., sent a letter to the UNMC community regarding the proposed 2019-2022 Breakthrough Thinking Strategic Plan.

It read:

Dear Colleagues,

Every year at this time, we go through a dynamic process to review our strategic plan and to make modifications to enhance our vision, our strategies and our goals for the upcoming three-year cycle. This year is no different from the prior years. We have focused the last six months on understanding the critical external forces that motivate us and, at the same time, stay focused on breakthrough thinking.

There have been multiple revisions to the strategies and goals; however, our mission, our vision and our values have remained unchanged. During this same time period, we have added several new goals and actually edited, combined and/or dropped a good number from the previous year.

Enclosed you will find a link to the proposed 2019-2022 Breakthrough Thinking Strategic Plan. This is YOUR opportunity as a member of our community, to review our thinking and give us your feedback as to any area you believe needs more focus, is redundant, or could be better expressed in terms of our strategic vision.

Please carefully review this document in its draft format, and share with us your feedback as to how to continually improve. Please send feedback to by March 6. I thank you in advance and look forward to hearing from you.

With warmest personal regards,

Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D.

Chancellor

  1. Linda Jensen says:

I am disappointed that with the crisis and huge needs in mental health and substance treatment in Nebraska and the US, that UNMC does not choose to even mention any initiatives or efforts in that area.
