Campus resources, support during the partial government shutdown

UNMC recognizes some students, faculty and staff may be in need of additional support due to the uncertainty of the ongoing partial government shutdown. The following resources are available throughout the year at UNMC:

Arbor Family Counseling/Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Confidential, counseling services for UNMC faculty and staff. A counselor is available for limited on-site sessions and can be scheduled by calling 402-330-0960. Off-site and/or HIPAA-compliant WebEx sessions also can be scheduled by calling 402-330-0960, 1-800-922-7379, or by going to Arbor’s website (arborfamilycounseling.com.) Service is available 24/7 by phone. Employees and their dependents each are provided five free counseling sessions per issue.

Counseling and Student Development Center
Confidential counseling services are provided free-of-charge to currently enrolled UNMC students and residents. In addition, the office provides several student development programs including ombudsperson services, student insurance assistance, student disability accommodations and student government advising. Financial Planning Consultations

UNMC Human Resources works closely with retirement advisors from Fidelity and TIAA-CREF to provide hands-on financial planning through personal on-campus visits. Visit www.unmc.edu/human-resources.

Faculty and Student Senates
The UNMC Faculty Senate and UNMC Student Senate are the representative bodies elected to promote and facilitate communication between UNMC faculty and students and the Chancellor.
