The calendar has turned to November and that means the holidays are around the corner. Catering at Nebraska Medicine is out with a new holiday menu aimed at accomplishing two things: offering a festive twist for department get-togethers and offering a convenient solution for personal holiday gatherings.
“We have a new executive chef, who we welcomed just a few months ago,” said Susan Peters, catering manager. “He has new ideas and was really excited to create a seasonal menu. We also wanted to break away from our regular catering menu for gatherings this time of year.”
Catering’s new software now allows for credit card transactions, which makes it possible to serve colleagues’ personal gatherings.
“As a working parent, we feel this is a very convenient solution if you’re headed to a family gathering or hosting one,” Peters said. “You can simply stop by on your way home or at a convenient time.”
Catering requests three days’ notice for orders and one-week notice for orders requiring delivery.
There is no charge for deliveries at the UNMC/Nebraska Medical Center campus. Personal orders exceeding $25 also can be delivered to your office.
Orders also can be picked up at Nebraska Medical Center, University Tower, level three in Room 3499S, right behind the C-Store.
“If colleagues need assistance to their vehicle, we can help with that,” Peters said.
The items listed on the menu also are offered ala carte.
“If you’re planning to attend a holiday gathering and you need a side dish or a pie, we can absolutely do that for you,” Peters said.
