Program/Year: UNMC College of Medicine, second-year (Class of 2021)
Education:
I was born and raised in Omaha and attended Creighton Prep. I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in biology from Georgetown University in 2016. I received my master’s degree in medical anatomy from UNMC in 2017. Currently, I’m a second-year medical student in the UNMC College of Medicine. As part of my medical education, I am partaking in the Enhanced Medical Education Tract in autoimmune diseases.
Hobbies:
- Guitar
- Volunteer baseball coach
- SHARING Clinics student provider
Staying Balanced:
I rely on my family and friends to stay balanced. It is easy to get bogged down by the overwhelming amount of work that medical school demands, making it difficult to find balance between studies and personal life. My friends and classmates have inspired me to become a compassionate physician. My family has provided me with tremendous support in my endeavors and have kept me grounded to my roots. I love spending time with them, and their inspiration and support are key to maintaining balance in my life.
Three things people may not know about me:
- I played outfield for the Georgetown University baseball team. My favorite memory is playing at Omaha’s TD Ameritrade Park in front of my family and friends.
- I’m a happy "plant dad" to eight healthy plants. To the surprise of all of my friends, they are still alive!
- I was in a band in high school called David and the Deltoids. Unfortunately, our best song was a cover of "Party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus.
So proud of you Evan!
Evan, you’re going to make an awesome physician!
Way to go Evan!!! Love you!
