Talk about your job and what you like best about it:
I help coordinate the Internal Medicine Research Council and Resident Research Interest Group, which involves setting up monthly meetings, inviting guest speakers, and informing the groups about what’s going on in research in our department and at UNMC.
I create communication materials like the Internal Medicine newsletter and help update the department’s webpages. I also coordinate our department’s Summer Undergraduate Research Program (SURP) and NIAAA-funded Summer Undergraduate Alcohol Research Program (SUARP).
I like that my job involves a lot of planning and organizing, and it allows me to use different skillsets. It’s exciting to learn about our faculty’s research activities and to help trainees get involved in research. But the best part of my job is welcoming and working with the undergraduate students who come to UNMC for the summer.
