Hobbies:
I enjoy baking, cooking, writing, reading, travel (both domestic and international) – the list is long!
Staying Balanced:
I try to make sure that my time is spent toward an activity that either is productive or brings me joy (and oftentimes both!). Being intentional with my time enables me to fully engage with what I am doing and results in me being able to use my time outside of school in a way that is rejuvenating.
Connecting with the larger picture and ultimate goals of my schooling and work also helps recharge me. These activities involve attending research lectures, engaging with patients and doctors in the clinic, and discussing ideas with peers and colleagues. This kind of meaningful human interaction can bring a lot of balance to my life while I am studying in school.
Three things people may not know about me:
I played the violin for five years in middle and high school. I still have my violin from those days, though it is badly out of tune!
Making dumplings used to be a tradition in my household growing up. Now, whenever I visit my family, my mother and I spend an afternoon making dumplings for the family for dinner.
My kitchen has two main cabinets for storing kitchen goods. One is full of baking ingredients. The other is full of loose-leaf tea.
