UNMC, Nebraska Medicine faculty and staff giving drive under way

We all have a passion, whether it’s teaching our students and residents, finding a new cure, advancing a research agenda or taking pride in our role in helping the university advance its mission of education, research and clinical care.

This September, UNMC and Nebraska Medicine employees are encouraged to support their passions by making a charitable gift. The University of Nebraska Foundation will conduct a three-week campaign to offer all of our employees the opportunity to give to their passions on campus, whether they are scholarships, research, an academic program, a clinical service, a college or unit, or something else entirely.

“Our faculty and staff are known for their passion and commitment to the mission of our medical center,” said Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D. “This drive by the University of Nebraska Foundation offers us the opportunity to support the area of our medical center’s statewide educational, research and clinical care missions that we are most passionate about.”

“I’m excited for Nebraska Medicine to be part of this new effort, providing a way for us to demonstrate our extraordinary care to our fellow colleagues, as well as the patients we serve,” said CEO Jim Linder, M.D. “We hope you will be an advocate for your passions, whatever they may be here at Nebraska Medicine and UNMC. I thank each of you for your dedicated service to Nebraska Medicine and the communities we serve.”

The campaign also will highlight stories from UNMC faculty and staff donors who have shared why they give back to UNMC. All donation options available at UNMC can be found at the UNMC employee giving website.

Please consider a gift to support UNMC, its employees and students today. We hope you will be an advocate for your area of interest, whatever it may be here on campus.

Look for further communication about the campaign starting Sept. 4. If you have questions, please contact Joel Gehringer at the University of Nebraska Foundation at 402-502-4924 or by email.
