How I fell in love with health policy:
In medical school, I was involved in the student chapter of the American Medical Association. The first time I went to a national AMA meeting, I fell in love with the way that they were able to come to a consensus on an issue that really affected physicians and patients. It only expanded my love for policy as I realized I could do that beyond the AMA as well.

Three things people may not know about me:
- I worked in the United States Senate for a year during my fellowship.
- My favorite movie is “Forrest Gump.”
- I used to sing the National Anthem at college athletic events. The largest crowd I ever sang for was more than 18,000 people!
