Registration is now open for the National Modeling & Simulation Coalition (NM&SC) 2018 National Meeting, which will be held Sept. 25- 26 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. The meeting will be held in the newly renovated Truhlsen Events Center, which is located inside the Michael F. Sorrell Center for Health Science Education at 42nd and Emile streets.
Co-hosted by iEXCELSM and the National Strategic Research Institute (NSRI), the focus of the interdisciplinary meeting is on "Improving Human Performance and Effectiveness."
Keynote speakers are Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., chancellor, UNMC and the University of Nebraska at Omaha; Daniel Serfaty, president/CEO, Aptima, Inc.; and Robert Amyot, M.D., president, CAE Healthcare.
In addition, the following panel sessions, focused on modeling, simulation and visualization (MS&V), will be led by subject matter experts:
* Human Performance & Effectiveness: MS&V – Training to Competence (Moderator: Wink Bennett, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base);
* Developing the Future Workforce for MS&V (Moderator: Mats Johansson, EON Reality);
* MS&V for Predictive Leadership and Decision-Making (Moderator: Marisa Fish, USSTRATCOM); and
* MS&V: The Future is Here (Moderator: Walter Greenleaf, Stanford University).
Meeting participants will have opportunities to glean information from these globally renowned experts in the topics of improving human performance, simulation and visualization. Check the website for additional details about the speakers and panelists.
A conference reception will be held Sept. 25 at the KANEKO Reality Exhibition in downtown Omaha, and is available to all full-registration participants. Note: This will serve not only as the conference reception, but also as the last night for the KANEKO Reality Exhibition.
NM&SC has reduced the registration fee for University of Nebraska/Nebraska Medicine faculty and staff to $100 – this includes meals on both meeting days as well as the reception at KANEKO. University of Nebraska students are invited to attend the conference free of registration charges, excluding meals, but are required to register.
