June 1 – Retreat for researchers, "Clinical and Basic Scientists – Find your Blind Date," 2-7:30 p.m., Truhlsen Events Center, Sorrell Center

June 1-2 – Cattlemen’s Ball in Hebron, Neb. Headliner is Trace Adkins.

June 4 – Start for EON Reality Virtual Reality Innovation Academy, Williams Science Hall, 11-month course to obtain EON Reality certification. EON Reality is the world leader in virtual and augmented reality training. 

June 4 – Chihuly Sanctuary reopens. It will be closed May 6 – June 4 for installation of new piece, additional lighting in/outside the reflection cone. 

June 4-15 – UNMC hosts 12 undergrads with an interest in biomedical research as part of the IPert American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC) workshop.

June 6 – NSRI news conference, 10-11 a.m., DRC II Commons

June 7 – Lydia Howell, M.D., professor and chair, pathology and laboratory medicine, UC Davis, presents "Building a culture of workplace flexibility," 11:30 a.m., Sorrell Center, Room 2018.

June 8-9 — Society for Redox Biology and Medicine (SfRBM) Regional Redox Symposium/Larry W. and Terry D. Oberley Symposium will held in the Sorrell Center. For more information, visit the website.

June 20 – Launch of the Kaneko Reality Exhibition speaker series. Drs. Jeffrey Gold and Pamela Boyers to present, 7:30 p.m.

June 21 – Jun Kaneko’s artist talk and reception, 4 p.m. in Yanney Conference Room in Buffett Cancer Center, 5 p.m. reception in the main dining room. Invite only, plus some staff/patients.

June 28 – Board of Regents meeting (agenda includes MMI’s new building, Wittson project/Wigton Center, Davis Global Center artwork, health insurance)

Sometime in June (TBD) – anniversary of opening of the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center
