The International and Graduate Student Associations at UNMC once again are celebrating spring and co-hosting the annual Holi Festival of Colors on April 29.
The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the green space of the Student Plaza between the Hope Tower and the ice rink on the north side of the Michael F. Sorrell Center for Health Science Education.
Holi is a Hindu spring festival, celebrated in India and internationally. It symbolizes rejuvenation, optimism and also is known as the “Festival of Colors” or “Festival of Love.”
It celebrates the arrival of spring after winter and signifies the victory of good over evil. For many, it is a festive day to meet others, play, laugh, forgive and forget, and repair broken relationships.
The event will include Indian snacks, Bollywood music, and the traditional color toss as a way to wash away the gloom of winter.
