With how many junior faculty members do you work?
I work with five to seven junior faculty members.
What are the greatest rewards of mentoring?
The great rewards of mentoring are when young staff members come to ask my advice for patient care and later tell me that they implemented my suggestion, which worked well for them. As a mentor, I have been available to talk to and have compassion when some untoward event has occurred.
Describe a moment when you realized your influence made a difference in someone’s career.
A group of young faculty and I were in the office visiting and several faculty said they used me as a role model.
List three things few people know about you.
- I grew up on a farm and attended a one-room country school.
- I am board-certified in pediatrics, anesthesiology and pediatric anesthesiology.
- I have a physician husband and three wonderful sons who have supported my career.
Dr. Kugler is an amazing blessing!!!
