Mothers know how important breastfeeding is to a baby’s health, but what if breastfeeding is difficult, interfering with your baby’s growth, or is painful?
Your pediatrician and certified lactation consultant are the first-line providers to identify and address breastfeeding problems. When these strategies are not as effective as intended, a referral to a physical therapist may be recommended.
UNMC’s Giuseppe (Joe) Siracusano, D.P.T., will discuss what a physical therapist can evaluate and treat to make the breastfeeding function and experiences successful at the next Olson Center Brown Bag, from noon to 1 p.m. on March 20 in the Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater.

The lectures are free. To obtain nursing credit, the cost is $10, and payment instructions will be given when at pre-registration.
