In recognition of February as Black History Month, UNMC is collaborating with local nonprofit, Inclusive Communities, to be a host site for the Main Table Talk Event on Feb. 6.
Inclusive Communities coordinates a monthly Lozier Omaha Table Talk series that highlights themes and topics relevant to issues in the community. Table Talk events include speakers and small group discussions led by trained facilitators.
The Main Table Talk Event is a citywide dialogue on race and identity that will take place simultaneously at various locations across the city, including UNMC and the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
The Main Table Talk Event is free and open to the public. Participants will need to register here. Food, donated by an outside vendor, will be available.
Inclusive Communities is a nonprofit association formed in 1938 by local business and community leaders. Its purpose is to confront prejudice, bigotry and discrimination.
