The College of Dentistry will welcome three Lincoln-area high school music groups for the annual holiday music series throughout December.
The performances will take place in the main foyer of the east entrance of the College of Dentistry building, located on the East Campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. They are:
Today, 11:30 a.m.-noon:
The series will kick off with the Lincoln North Star Performing Arts’ Chamber Strings, a nine-student ensemble that will perform under the direction of Rob Salistean.
Friday, 9-9:30 a.m.:
The series will continue with the Lincoln Southeast High School Queen’s Court and Ars Nova vocal groups. Queen’s Court is the school’s women’s choir consisting of 24 students. Ars Nova is a 12-person vocal jazz choir. Both are under the direction of Missy Noonan and accompanied by Julie Eschliman.
Dec. 18, noon-1 p.m.
The series will conclude with the Lincoln Southwest High School Chamber Choir and the Orchestra Ensemble. The Chamber Choir, a 42-voice ensemble under the direction of Denise Cotton, will perform from noon-12:30 p.m. Following the choir, the Lincoln Southwest Orchestra Ensemble, under the direction of Jason Lenz, will perform from 12:30-1 p.m.
