At UNMC, a forum will take place at 10 a.m. in Room 1005 of the Sorrell Center. A second forum also will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Milo Bail Student Center at UNO.

“We, at UNMC and at UNO, are working closely with our central administration and sister campuses. We are carefully looking at all of our expenses, but from a perspective of growth, efficiency and effectiveness,” Dr. Gold said.

“As a university, we are constantly changing degree programs, adding majors, combining or separating programs. But, our core strategy is to work closely with the Budget Response Team (BRT) as outlined by our central administration and grow our programs as our state deals with its current economic situation. As you may know, forecasts call for further declines in state tax revenues. This means that your input, expertise and dedication are more critical than ever.

“To that end, I will continue to work with administrators, faculty, students and staff to identify efficiencies and opportunities for growth. The forums on Nov. 20 provide an opportunity for us to continue the dialogue. If you have specific topics or questions that you would like addressed at the forum or privately, please do not hesitate to contact me via e-mail. I look forward to hearing from you.”
