Graduate student board aims to increase involvement

The 2017-18 Graduate Student Association executive board will work toward increasing student involvement and student networking opportunities, said new GSA president Tayla Heavican.

At their first meeting, new GSA officers laid out goals for this school year, which include paying attention to first-year graduate students and creating initiatives to continue improvement in advisor-student relations.

The GSA board is cognizant of Graduate Studies’ diverse student population and will take diversity — of all kinds — into account when advocating for students.

“This brings to our attention the need for networking events to include multiple disciplines and post-graduate prospects,” Heavican said.

The GSA executive board is eager to serve students and welcomes communication through e-mail.
