Explore how UNMC’s College of Public Health trains professionals to tackle the biggest health problems, from local neighborhoods to global populations, at an open house Friday.
The open house will be from 12:30 to 5 p.m. on the third floor of the Maurer Center for Public Health, 519 S. 40th Plaza Circle.
This half-day event provides prospective students with a basic understanding of the field of public health and the academic public health programs at UNMC. Participants will have the opportunity to meet with and have their questions answered by public health leadership, faculty, researchers and current students in the college.
The open house is for prospective students, pre-health advisors and career counselors who want a greater understanding of the field of public health and all the opportunities for education and research in the College of Public Health.
After faculty members discuss the different public health disciplines and careers, a panel discussion will be held on practice and research opportunities for students. Participants will then be given an in-depth review of the admissions process.
