The UNMC College of Nursing will host three events to give prospective students a closer look at its doctoral nursing programs. Faculty will be available to discuss degree choices, financing and juggling life as a student.
College representatives will be on hand in Omaha, Lincoln and via the Internet this month to talk about the doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) and doctor of nursing practice (D.N.P.) degrees. A Ph.D. prepares individuals for leadership roles in research, education, practice, health policy, and administration. The D.N.P. is designed to prepare advanced practice nurses in advanced clinical expertise, quality improvement, patient safety and health systems change.

Omaha – Tuesday, Oct. 17, from 3:30-5:30 p.m., UNMC College of Nursing Center for Nursing Science, 41st St. & Dewey Ave., third floor, student atrium, Room 3030.
Lincoln – Wednesday, Oct. 18, from 3:30-5:30 p.m., UNMC College of Nursing Lincoln Division, 1230 O St., Suite 131, Commerce Court (Wells Fargo building). Parking is available in the Rampark Parking Garage, 1225 P St. (between O and P streets or on P St., between 13th and 14th).

The UNMC College of Nursing’s D.N.P. program was recently ranked second in the nation by Value Colleges in its Top 50 Best Value Doctor of Nursing Practice Programs of 2016.
