Hassan Tetteh, M.D., will deliver a presentation titled “Embracing Diversity for Improved Health Outcomes” from noon-1 p.m. Wednesday in the Sorrell Center, Room 2014.
Dr. Tetteh is command surgeon at the National Defense University and associate professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He also serves on the adjunct faculty at Howard University College of Medicine and served as division lead for futures and innovation at Navy Medicine’s Headquarters, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery.
He specializes in cardiovascular disease management, heart failure surgery, and heart and lung transplantation. He serves in a number of social impact organizations including Champions for Kids, Mentoring in Medicine and the Arthur Ashe Institute for Urban Health.
Dr. Tetteh’s novel, Gifts of the Heart, will be available for sale before and after the presentation.
Dr. Tetteh’s visit is co-sponsored by the College of Medicine Office of the Dean, the Department of Surgery, the Office of Academic Affairs, and the McGoogan Library of Medicine.
