The UNMC Center for Drug Discovery and Lozier Center for Pharmacy Sciences and Education is hosting the 35th annual national convention of the American Association of Pharmacy Technicians (AAPT) this week. The convention, which began Thursday, continues to run all day today and through tomorrow.
It is the second consecutive year that UNMC is hosting this national convention.
The AAPT’s goal at the convention is to unify pharmacy technicians from around the country for education that promotes advancement in individual careers, patient safety and the health care system.
The program features speakers from across the U.S., and UNMC faculty members are scheduled to present several sessions.
Judy Neville, director of UNMC’s pharmacy technician education program, is the current AAPT president.
Members of the UNMC campus community are encouraged to check out the convention’s exhibitor hall today from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a chance to win prizes.
