Skyler Krause takes part in summer camp at the College of Nursing Northern Division in Norfolk. |
The camps were funded by a two-year, $665,266 U.S. Health Resource Services Administration grant to inspire high school students interested in pursuing careers in nursing with ongoing mentoring, shadowing and other activities throughout the school year.
Students experienced a variety of clinical educational activities that exposed them to the many facets of nursing, including hearing from health professionals at health care facilities.
In the Motor Vehicle Trauma escape room, high school students Alaina Schoone and Haleanna Kollard apply pressure to the wounds on third semester Kearney nursing student Katie McClearly, portraying the accident victim, while Natalie Rosentrater and Aubyrne McClintock observe at the College of Nursing Kearney Division summer camp. |
