The Graduate Studies website has been updated to provide a better user experience for prospective students, current students and faculty. A few of the changes include:
- Clearer instructions on the application process
- Wider breadth of information for international applicants
- Reorganization of the Current Student section to make information easier to find
- Addition of a Resource Center, which highlights valuable information all UNMC graduate students need to know
“We believe the new site is easier to navigate and more student friendly,” said Dele Davies, M.D., dean for graduate studies. “Special thanks to the many people who gave input into the process, including members of the GSA, faculty and staff.”
This six-month-long effort resulted in the content being written and formatted for an online audience. Sections were strategically created to focus on individual audiences, which provides a targeted, relevant message.
“We think it looks great and we are excited in our office to have a new look,” said Terri Vadovski, director of graduate administrative services. “We hope potential and current students will have an easier time finding what they are looking for.”
Pamela Carmines, Ph.D., assistant dean for graduate studies, added: “Our communications team reorganized the website in a way that transformed it into a much more user-friendly resource. By minimizing the sea of words that users routinely encountered at our old site, while still providing the critical information, they were able to produce a website with more visual appeal.”
