Award nominations are open for three awards to be presented at the Premier Education Banquet, which will be held from noon-2 p.m. Aug. 15 at the Truhlsen Event Center. Nominations for awards will be accepted through June 30.

The event bridges institutions, colleges and departments to discuss academic activities that help define UNMC and Nebraska Medicine as a premier educational institution in support of our mission and strategic plan.
The Premier Education Banquet is co-sponsored by the UNMC Interprofessional Academy of Educators, the UNMC Office of Faculty Development, and the Nebraska Medicine Office of Health Professions Education. Every year, each of the sponsoring areas honors premier faculty and staff for their inspiring work. Awardees are recognized at the annual Premier Education Banquet.

Catalyst for Education Award
The Interprofessional Academy of Educators recognizes the integral role played by those serving in educational support positions. These individuals are invaluable team members and vital to furthering the educational mission at UNMC, promoting a premier environment and ensuring the success of all trainees. This award will be given to a staff member serving in an educational support role who models the ITEACH values.
Eligibility: All full-time UNMC staff members with one or more years of service, whose primary responsibility is to provide educational support (coordinator, administrative associate, office associate, instructional technologist/designer, etc.)

Visionary Educational Leader Award
The Office of Faculty Development recognizes the essential role of visionary educational leaders at UNMC. This award recognizes individuals who are actively championing our ITEACH values to lead UNMC’s premier education mission, now and into the future.

Exemplar in Collaboration Award
The Office of Health Professions Education at Nebraska Medicine recognizes the high-impact role collaboration can play in achieving mutual goals, exhibiting our ITEACH values, and living our shared mission. This award recognizes collaborators who respect diverse views, motivate others to advance beyond the status quo, establish trust by building effective partnerships, and increase the success of teams through cooperative problem-solving and sharing resources.
