The University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing is accepting nominations for its new Hall of Fame Award. The deadline for award submissions is June 21.
The Hall of Fame award, the highest honor of the college, was established this year to identify distinguished and notable UNMC College of Nursing alumni and to recognize their extraordinary contributions. Candidates may be nominated posthumously.
Recipients will be inducted during a UNMC College of Nursing 100th anniversary gala on Oct. 20 in Omaha which coincides with its alumni reunion weekend.
Submission requirements include: the form; a nomination letter describing why the candidate should be considered for the honor; a resume, professional bio sketch or curriculum vitae of nominee or other documentation specifying the individual’s accomplishments; and names and contact information for references.
The downloadable nomination form can be found at www.unmc.edu/nursing/nomination.
The college's 100th Anniversary Planning Committee will hold a variety of activities throughout the year to celebrate its centennial. The committee also will publish an updated history book. Private funds will cover the costs.
Individuals and organizations interested in supporting 100th anniversary activities can contact Deidra Sheppard-Calloway, University of Nebraska Foundation, deidra.sheppard-calloway@nufoundation.org, (402) 502-4138.
