An international lineup of speakers from academia and pharmaceutical industries is set for the College of Pharmacy’s fourth annual Biopharmaceutical Research and Development Symposium on Sept. 7-8. Its theme is “Research and Development of Personalized Medicines.”
The symposium will take place at the UNMC Center for Drug Discovery and Lozier Center for Pharmacy Sciences and Education.
“This year’s symposium will highlight different facets of developing tools for precision genome-engineering in humans for therapeutic and diagnosis of genetic disorders,” said Ram Mahato, Ph.D., chair of pharmaceutical sciences.
Dr. Mahato is co-leading the planning committee with Tatiana Bronich, Ph.D., co-director of the Center for Drug Delivery and Nanomedicine.
“Translation of precision medicine-based nanotechnologies from bench research to clinical practice is vital; this symposium aims at facilitating such developments,” Dr. Mahato continued.
The College of Pharmacy annually brings together luminaries from academia and industry in order to explore ways to better move discoveries forward.
