Parking permit renewal available online

For the first time, parking permits for UNMC and Nebraska Medical Center can be purchased through an online portal.

All colleagues, staff, and faculty with a valid parking permit should renew online by June 30. If you do not renew online before June 30, you will need to visit Parking Services in person for a new permit. If renewals are not processed by July 10, then your current permit will be cancelled and your assigned space and lot will be forfeited.

To renew your current permit, log in to the online portal with your network login ID and password. An account has been created for all UNMC and Nebraska Medicine employees. You will need to enter your primary vehicle information when you use the online system for the first time. Do not log in as a guest, as you will not be able to access your current parking information or save your vehicle information for future use.

If you currently park with a carpool parking pass, you will be contacted within the next 30 days to confirm your carpooling status and your pass will be renewed individually through Parking Services.

As part of the renewal process, you will be asked for your home address so that your new parking permit can be mailed to you. Please note that this is a two-year renewal, so the price displayed includes the cost of parking from July 2017 to June 2019. You will not pay this balance at one time. When you select “pay now,” you will be authorizing the same payment method you’ve used in the past (for the majority of colleagues, this is payroll deduction.)

Parking rates will increase slightly, beginning July 1. The majority of lots will experience a $2 per month difference. A chart showing the increase is shown; view this map to determine the color-coding of your assigned lot.

UNMC student renewal will begin in August. Student parking will increase $1 to $18 per month, or $216 if purchased for the year.

Parking fees do not generate revenue for the medical center. Instead, the increase is necessary to cover such annual operating expenses as ongoing repairs and maintenance of lots. Fees also cover land purchases, snow removal, security and enforcement, equipment, lot improvements and administrative costs.
